I have been living in Mazatlán for over three years now and love it. People are very friendly here, and although one should learn some basic Spanish, many people living and working here know some English so fluency in Spanish is not really required.
Mazatlán is the first of the beautiful resort areas south of the Tropic of Cancer on Mexico's Pacific Coast. It's known as "The Pearl of the Pacific" and is a unique combination of the old and new in Mexico. It's one of my favorite places in that large and beautiful country just to the south of the United States.
